I’m Joshua Kinner, a Deaf filmmaker and visual artist. I capture raw, cinematic moments that mix energy, emotion, and style. From sports highlights to short films and design work, I tell stories that hit hard and look great. My projects with university teams, national sports groups, and creative studios all share one goal, powerful visuals that connect with people.

Spring 2024
I interned with filmmaker
Dakota Daniels at LFG Network, mainly editing pre-filmed and scripted projects like podcast videos. Working with a small, collaborative team taught me how to adapt to different workflows, meet tight deadlines, and add my own creative touch to the edits.
Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design
2020 - 25
At Gallaudet University, I explored both traditional and digital art, learning how to use design to tell stories, solve problems, and support visual communication, especially in the Deaf community. My time there helped me grow as an artist and filmmaker, giving me the skills to combine graphic design with video, photography, and storytelling.
2023-24
As part of Gallaudet University’s student led media team, BTV, I’ve worked on everything from campus events and interviews to short films and creative projects. It helped me build my skills in directing, editing, and teamwork while giving me a platform to share Deaf stories and experiences through film.

I minored in Digital Media to build my skills in video production, photography, and interactive media. This gave me hands on experience with filming, editing, and creating media projects that connect with both Deaf and hearing audiences in creative ways.

I create sports films and highlight videos that capture the energy and passion of our athletes. From filming games and practices to editing hype videos for the Gallaudet Bison, I’ve grown as both a filmmaker and a storyteller, representing the Deaf community and our culture through sports.

Outside of school, I work as a freelance filmmaker and content creator, making sports highlights, short films, and promotional videos for athletes, organizations, and small businesses.
